What happened to Cho S Ramaswamy?
At one point of time in Tamil cinema and then politics, Cho S Ramaswamy was one of the admired and respected person. His commentary on the state of Indian and Tamil Nadu politics was considered bible by the Brahmins and the Tamil Intelligentsia. He was even touted as the mentor for Rajinikanth when he was making political overtures.
Every year, he organises at Music Academy in Chennai, an annual get together of the Tughlaq magazine, of which he is the editor. People throng in thousands to hear him answer their questions. So much so that the Academy overflows and people outside just hear his voice through speakers. Quite amazing.
But these days (for the past few years that is), he has become a Jayalalitha camp person. Wonder how she bought him over. Though he ocassionally derides even her to show he is neutral, it's clear that he is now in the AIADMK camp. The intelligentsia seem to have lost trust in this lawyer-turned political commentator. Just hope he comes back to his senses...
