Karunanidhi & Kannagi are back

For the fifth time, he is back as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. And along with him will come the displaced Kannagi statue back to its rightful place along the Marina Beach in a few days from now, straight from the Chennai Museum...completely refurbished. And it will ensure that one more pre-election commitment of the octagenraian gets fulfilled, along with the 2kg of rice through ration shops and many such revenue-draining measures.

I am keenly awaiting the reversal of couple of measures implemented by predecessor Jayalalitha, the main ones being the "come-back of lottery business" and the movement of liquor business back from Jayalalitha family owned Midas Distilleries to the other private players. These both should definitely help generate a lot of free cash in the market.

But what suprises me is the Local Administration being portfolio allocated to Stalin and retaining the big ticket IT portfolio with Karunanidhi himself? Stumps me, but the answer should unfold in the next few days.

But then whoever comes to power in Tamil Nadu, one thing is for sure - they have always been pro-industry and IT friendly. And this govt will be no different. As long as that happens, I am happy whoever rules the nation.
