Life without a lappy

Its the nightmare for a blogger, especially for one who has just turned a photo blogger. No personal laptop to work from home and post blogs. After being provided with laptops by the last two employers for three years, its difficult to survive without it. Hutch has still not felt the need to provide me with a laptop. So have to manage blogging from one of the Reliance Webworlds as I am in no mood to invest in a personal desktop...But the irritant is that netcafes refuse to attach my digicam USB to the desktop for security seasons...

so its going to be infrequent blogs at odd hour posts....and its going to be very rare to upload photos tooo

but life without blogging is next to impossibility....stay tuned

Swades = How to Launch a satellite + How to light a bulb

Having said that Swades is equivalent to two films - one on how to launch a Global Precipitation Measurement satellite and the second on how to light a bulb - I strongly feel that it is one of the best "idealistic" and "realistic" films that has hit the silver screens , especially in these times of "designer clothes and cho chweet lingo" films.

The fact that the film has not quite set the BO on flames across the country is clear indicator that our masses are not quite attuned to visual treatises which play the crude realities.

But one thing is clear. You shall see a Mohan Bharagava emerge from Chennai in the next few years. Ode to Ramesh Ramanathans of the world who have been inspirations for these films and who have put in their bit to change the complex face of earth called India.

Ashutosh Gowariker, guess you definitely have done your bit. So just lay back and let your work produce the desired results.

Wondering where my Charanpur is?....

Adios Frost & Sullivan!! Hola Hutch

I said Hi to Hutch yesterday..taking a cue from their ad campaign. I joined Hutchison Whampoa in Chennai after a three day "break between jobs". I bid adieu to Frost & Sullivan after a seven month sojourn in consulting. Telecom beckoned and I heeded to the clarion call....

So I am back in telecom...second innings you could say....

so thats the scene..put in my papers after pulling in all the guts possible from every cell in the body on the last day of November....had a quick fire getaway in ten days...and lo behold I joined Hutch before anyone could bat an eyelid....

hmm...as Robert Allan Zimmerman (Dylan dude that is) said...times they are a changin....

but the answer as he said in another song""...is blowing in the wind"...going with the tide....

Mr Li Ka Shing...i guess this is the closest I can get to you....
