Big FM is awesome...

Reliance is back at doing what it is best at - becoming the category leader despite being a late entrant. Earlier, it happened with mobiles and now its with FM radio. Arguably, Big FM is the best in Chennai, in terms of the quality of songs played. While Radio Mirchi is too RJ-centric with only latest hits, Suriyan FM has a bad line up of RJs. Radio City is awful with a bad line up of songs. And Big FM is refreshin with a mix of 70s to 90s medlodies played along with only latest hits (and not latest songs...hits is the catch word)...

Its going to be great for the listeners with the War for the Radio Waves...

Tryst with Kollywood stars...

It was Kollywood party at its best. Well, I am talking about Filmfare South Awards party at Park Sheraton last saturday night. It was a starry night and truly rocking in true-blue Times Group ishtyle. at the party me and a star-struck Suchi had tryst with Vijay, Vikram, AR Rahman, Harris Jeyaraj, Trisha, Simbu, Dhanush, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Madhavan, Parthiban, Kushboo, Gowtham Menon, Priyadarshan, Bharath, Malavika, Namitha, Reema Sen...the list is endless...truly starry...not quite sure whether I would get a chance again to see them all together...and that too probably sitting and chatting beside you

Its my second filmfare south party and definitely an unforgettable one...

To be or not to be KANK

It's a belated blog despite the fact that I had watched KANK on the second day of release. When your wife is crazy about SRK, it's surprising that I had leeway till the second day to watch the film. My eagerness just kept waning with the passing of every frame of the movie. The slickness and sophistication of the film was rather negated by the unacceptable storyline. As much as marital discord is the order of the day, it need not be portrayed in big screen. It's an act of complete irresponsibility on the part of KJ. Anyway, everyone makes mistakes...

V V Rocks

"Parimaanam" means "phase" in Tamil. That's what Kamal Haasan' latest slick flick Vettaiyadu Vilayadu has done - create a new phase in Tamil cinema. A film with a production value that can give the best of Hollywood films a run for their money. Every artist and technican working in the film have tried to outbeat everyone else to shine bright. But Kamal has outshone in his stunnning performance as DCP Raghavan with his "Raghavan instinct".

Probably, this is the first time that we can say that its not just a Kamal's film, it's a Goutham Menon film too. And his stamp is clearly visible in the subtle but well-crafted portrayal of Kamal-Jyothika relationship (the way he had portrayed "Anbuselvan-Maya" affair in Kaakha Kaakha).

VV truly rocks. And thankfully even the BO seems to agree with that. Now, I am keenly waiting for Thalaivar's next film "Dasavatharam".
